Halloween Mani!

Happy Halloween dear ghoulies!  I have a quick post to share the mani I sported today!  Then I'm off to take the littles Trick or Treating!  Hope you have a fun, spooky night full of treats!

I went with classic Halloween colors; green, orange and purple.  I started with 2 coats of Elevation Polish Darkest Safari - a gorgeous, dark green holo.  Perfect formula and application!  Perfect shade for Fall and Winter!  I then used Smitten Polish Fire Burn, a glowing orange holo micro glitter that is just amazing!  I used 3 coats for full coverage.  I have Super Black Lacquers Bruiser on my pinky, a super awesome deep purple full of silver shimmer.  To make it more Halloween I hand drew a hanging spider on each accent nail using Sally Hansen Scaredy Matte.  I dotted on red eyes with Zoya Posh.  I also have a silvery grey hand drawn web on my pinky, but it's hard to see.  I used Zoya Loredana for the web.  Boo.  I finished it all with a couple layers of topcoat.

Super Black Lacquers Fall 2014 Collection

Good morning and Happy Halloween!  I'll be watching my kids parade at their school, then helping out in one of the classrooms while they get settled into a Halloween art project!  Hopefully I'll have time to grab coffee with a girlfriend before I have to go straight back to the school and pick them all up.  So while I do all that you can check out the new Super Black Lacquers Fall 2014 Collection!  Packed full of shimmer, glitter, metallic, creme and opalescence - it's a fabulous 5 piece collection that covers alot of finish bases!  The Fall 2014 Collection is currently available on the website and you can purchase them for $10 - $12 each.

Bruiser is a "plum purple with silvery shimmer."  Bruiser is showing a bit warmer in my pictures than it is in real life.  But that silver flakie shimmer is ah-mazing!   It's a really flattering shade of purple that has fantastic coverage.  Both the formula and application were great.  I used 2 coats of Bruiser for complete opaqueness and finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Fall Back is a perfect "midnight blue creme."  This is an extremely opaque slightly jelly formula (maybe it's cruelly?).  It is super dark, almost black in regular lighting.  In my bright light you can clearly see that it is a deep blue.  Fall Back had a great formula that was easy to work with.  It applied smoothly and has a shiny finish. I used 3 coats of Fall Back for full coverage and finished up with a layer of topcoat to keep the uber glossy look.

Moving on to the glitter of the collection, Boss Lady.  Boss Lady is a "glitterbomb with 5 sizes of champagne fold glitter and gold pigment."  This is just WOW!  It's so luxurious and blingy AND gold!  I love the sparkle and depth.  You can wear Boss Lady alone or over a base color.  But this is really opaque alone so it could totally cover the base color that you choose unless you lightly sponge Boss Lady on.  I chose to wear it alone and had full coverage in 3 coats.  I also sponged 1 layer on the tip of my accent nail (which was Fall Back).  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat for a smooth finish.

Semi Automatic is a "metallic gunmetal grey."  I love this color, it's dark and beautiful!  It will be a perfect color to transition into the Winter months.  The formula and application were both great - smooth formula and even coverage.  There is a very fine rainbow holo shimmer visible to the naked eye but I wasn't successful at capturing it in any of my pictures.  There were a few visible brush strokes so paint carefully if that bothers you.  I used 2 coats of Semi Automatic and 1 layer of topcoat.

I saved my favorite for last, The Perfectionist.  This is a "warm camel polish with violet pearlescence."  Holy hell this is one stunning polish!  I love it's super neutral yet girly base and the addition of that shimmer is, well, perfection.  The Perfectionist is very creamy and has a pretty opaque formula for such a light color.  It applied like a dream.  I used 3 coats of The Perfectionist and 1 layer of topcoat.

Pahlish An Caisteal Ruadh

Good morning!  I am absolutely feeling in the Fall spirit.  I just can't get enough of these deep red, maroon and burgundy shades.  So I suspect you'll be seeing lots of them soon and for a while as I usually wear them all winter long.  So let's start off my total red infatuation with a post featuring a stunning Pahlish from the Royal Reverie Collection.  I'm not sure if Shannon is going to restock this one anymore but it's currently still listed on the site for $9 (but SOLD OUT).  Be sure to check on Friday at 5pm PDT when she restocks the shop.

An Caisteal Ruadh , which means "RedCastle in Scottish Gaelic" is an "oxblood red jelly with a mix of gold and silver flakes and copper shimmer."  It's inspired by the deep brick red colors of the castle.  The color, finish, shimmer, flakies...all complete perfection together.  The formula and application were both fantastic.  It covered superbly well for a jelly and I reached full coverage after 2 coats of An Caisteal Ruadh.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat to keep the glossy finish.

I Love Your Guts is a shimmery pink red undertone base and it's full of little matte black glitters.  It dries to a metallic matte finish.  I Love Your Guts is also very slightly textured.  This is a totally fun polish, I love the unique color and finish!  I Love Your Guts had a fabulous formula and applied nicely.  I used 2 coats of I Love Your Guts and no topcoat.

Getting To Gnaw You is a gorgeous black and copper glitter in a black jelly base.  I really love this one...it's so dark and full of depth.  The formula and application of Getting To Gnaw You were both fantastic.  I used 2 coats of Getting To Gnaw You and 1 layer of topcoat.

Don't Let The Dead Bite is a bubblegum pink crelly full of an assortment of light and dark pink metallic glitter shapes.  This reminds me of guts and gore in a horror movie.  It's kinda gross but cool at the same time.  The formula and application of Don't Let The Dead Bite was pretty good for a crelly.  It built up to almost complete coverage in 3 coats.  I used 1 layer of topcoat.

But Of Corpse is a zesty, shimmery lime green full of tiny black glitters.  Just like I Love Your Guts it dries to a metallic matte finish and has a slight texture.  This color is very reminiscent of all kinds of monsters that lurk in horror movies!  I used 2 coats of But Of Corpse and no topcoat.

Rest In Pieces is a holo gold, copper and black glitter topper.  It's full of bars, hexs and micro glitters. I think it would look great over dark and light colors, but I chose to try it over an ivory/cream creme. Lots of glitter came out with each brush dip and it spread well on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Rest In Pieces and finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Ghoulish Glow is a glow in the dark topper.  You can wear it over any shade and for nail art.  I wanted to show you how well it glowed so I have 1 coat of Ghoulish Glow over a plain white creme. The green glow is pretty strong, this is only have about 45 seconds of exposure to light.  If you're in need of a glow in the dark topper than Ghoulish Glow is a great choice!
