My Personal Top 10 Mainstream Polishes of 2014

Good morning lovelies!  I'm back with 1 more Top 10 post for you - but this time it features the mainstream brands that I tried out.  Much like that last post, featuring my favorite indie polishes for 2014 (you can see that post HERE), I will provide pictures and links to the original posts so you can read up on the individual polishes if you so desire!  Thank you for a a fabulous year full of gorgeous polish 2014!  I hope that 2015 has exciting things in store for us polish fanatics!  So lets get started!

*please click on links to original posts for disclosures*

10. Jessica SoHo In Love.  What a gorgeous, pastel pink-nude creme this is!  It was the perfect palate cleanser and a perfectly girly shade.  I hope to try plenty more polish from Jessica Cosmetics this coming year.  Original post HERE.

9. China Glaze Stop That Train.  Here's one of those polishes that is just so me I couldn't take it!  The rest-red orange color was fabulous.  The shimmery finish was to die for.  I know China Glaze will have loads of interesting and beautiful polish for 2015 and I look forward to seeing exactly what it will all look like!  Original post HERE.

8. Sheswai Lacquer Yowza.  I am not even sure if this polish was released in 2014, but since I tried it out this year it made the cut!  This is such a gorgeous, shimmery purple.  And the formula.  Swoon!  Sheswai has their formula down to a perfect science - buttery, creamy, opaque!  I know Sheswai mostly does cremes, a couple shimmers.  I hope they release a plethora of new shades in 2015!  Original post HERE.

7. OPI Comet in the Sky.  I'll admit that I wasn't too impressed with the Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 Collection.  Then I saw Comet in the Sky.  Jaw hit the ground - no joke.  OPI totally channeled the indie brands with this iridescent and black glitter bomb.  It's FANTASTIC!  I wore it over a deep navy blue shade and it was perfect galaxy on my nails.  OPI is another brand that I know won't disappoint in 2015 - I have already seen a few collection floating around the Facebook groups and I can't wait to see them in real life.  Original post HERE

6. Color Club The Uptown.  I'll admit I've never been much of a flakie fan.  Then The Uptown came out and I happened across it in a beauty supply store.  I bought it.  I loved it.  Now I am beyond happy that I did get it because for some reason Color Club changed their formula and The Uptown looks nothing like this lovely flakie polish!  Color Club always does a great job of putting out interesting and unique collections full of glitters, shimmer, textures, toppers.  I can't wait to see what they have in store for us in 2015.  Original post HERE.

5. Orly Pink Crystal.  This was actually not a polish that Orly ever released.  This was a one off that polish fans were finding across the states in Marshall's and TJ Maxx stores.  Man we went nuts over these texture polishes.  One look at Pink Crystal and it's easy to see why we all spend time looking for this (and it's peach counterpart Just Peachy!).  This was a nice bright, perfect for spring and summer pinky-red texture that I think should have been release in mass quantity.  But oh well, maybe 2015 will bring more Orly textures for us to love.  Original post HERE.

4. Dior Aventure.  This is one of the gel-like colors that Dior released in the late Spring.  I'm a little (ok HUGE) fan of the Dior formula so I was excited to try these.  They didn't disappoint.  Aventure applied just like the regular Diors but had so much more shine and gloss.  I'd be a happy camper to see more polishes like this line from Dior.  I'd also be happy to see some more greens and oranges too!  Original post HERE.

3. Rescue Beauty Lounge Oliveto.  Alright - I am not sure this could really be considered a mainstream brand but it surely isn't an indie.  I guess it sits somewhere in the middle but it's going in this post so I'm just going to have to deal with my in-betweener polish selection.  What I love about this polish isn't just the color or name, it's the way Ji makes you feel like you are in Italy, taking in the sights though her inspiration.  RBL is a brand that paints a lovely picture behind the polish as well as your nails.  I hope 2015 brings us more inspired collections much like this from the Italian Summer Collection.  Original post HERE.

RBL Oliveto

2. Zoya Posh.  This is a re-release from a year or two back.  I can't say no to a red.  Let alone a matte red.  This is a real beauty and it looks amazing in it's intended matte state as well as with topcoat.  It's like getting 2 polishes for the price of 1!  I would love to see more MatteVelvets from Zoya in 2015! Original post HERE.

1. Barielle Hawaiian Sunset.  I don't think this one even needs an explanation.  Look at it.  Bright orange.  Heavy gold shimmer.  Jen Jen Jen!  Actually I went into this list with a completely different order so when it started pouring out of my head I surprised myself.  But then I look at this picture and the post and I just knew this was my favorite mainstream of the year.  I only started wearing Barielle about halfway through 2014 but I was consistently impressed with the formula and quality of their polish.  2015 should be a promising year for Barielle and I can't wait to see what their collections have in store for us!  Original post HERE.

Philly Loves Lacquer SBP #110 & Holiday 2014

Good afternoon!  Over the Black Friday/Small Business Saturday/Cyber Monday sales I went a bit overboard.  I bought many items for my polish BFF's but I also bought myself a bit too much.  Then there were all the random sales that popped up here and there.  Well needless to say I am trying to take it easy with the credit card now and working my way through possibly the worlds largest untrieds stash ever.  I picked up this totally fabulous sample polish from Philly Loves Lacquer.  I loved it when I saw it, I was totally head over heels when it arrived and I saw it in person!  Totally unique, totally gorgeous.  *edit* GOOD NEWS!  I spoke with Esther and there are plenty of SBP #110 micro glitter left and Holiday 2014 will be available for purchase tomorrow (12/29).  I recommend that you check out the sample sale page to pick up these one-offs from Esther because I was very impressed!

Here we hav SBP #110.  It's a gorgeous gold holo fine-micro glitter full of small red and gold glitters. It's so super hero-like, I'm pretty sure I gained super powers while wearing it.  Not only was it beautiful, it also had a great formula!  The micro glitter base was packed, but very easy to use.  It applied easily.  I reached full coverage with 2 coats of SBP #110 and finished with 1 layer of topcoat for a smooth to the touch finish.

I also received a sweet little gift from Philly Loves Lacquer with my order!  This is Holiday 2014!  It's a pretty rose-pink base with a very loose, scattered holo finish.  Holiday 2014 had a nice formula and applied easily.  I used 2 coats of Holiday 2014 and no topcoat.

Lumina Lacquer God Of Wine

Good morning dolls!  Just wanted to pop in with a quickie post today.  I am on the road during my vacation right now!  But I have lots of posts to share and am eager to beat my record high of posting last year so I am making a big push now that I am down to the wire.  I have one of my favorite brands on my nails - it's an older Lumina Lacquer which is no longer available.  BUT Lumina Lacquer is having an end of year sale and there are some amazing prices on all kinds of fabulous polish so head over and see if there's something you like!

*nothing to disclose*

THIS is God of Wine.  Look at it's beautiful magenta-ness.  I love the holo shimmer and little holo glitter particles in this baby.  Tatiana has a way with the solid colors that just makes me all drooly and I'll admit I wasn't so wise last year when this was released and I skipped it.  Well I spent an entire year hunting around for it.  The formula and application were both absolutely perfect.  So smooth and creamy and opaque.  I used 2 thin coats of God of Wine for full coverage though you could easily get away with 1.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Bellaluna Cosmetics Belle of the Ball

Good evening lovelies!  I'm on vacation so the posts you'll see over the next few days will be short but sweet.  I have a very pretty new polish to share with you today - from a new brand!  Bellaluna Cosmetics recently released her Winter 2014 Collection and it was pretty huge!  There were plenty of gorgeous colors and I'm sure there's something for everyone.  The whole collection is currently available and they are $8.50 each.  Let's delve in and check out some pictures!

*nothing to disclose*

Bellaluna Cosmetics: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

Belle of the Ball is an "emerald base polish with copper shimmer."  I thought the mixture of the colors was very pretty and unique.  The formula and application were both nice.  There were a few visible brushstrokes but as long as you don't overwork the polish they should be minimal.  I used 2 coats of Belle of the Ball to reach full coverage.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat for shine and a smooth finish.

My Personal Top 10 Indie Polishes of 2014

Hello there dears!  Now that the excitement of Christmas has passed and we are coming up the the New Year I thought it would be a great time to do a review of 2014.  Specifically my favorite indie polishes from the entire year.  I've had the pleasure of reviewing quite a few indie brands this year, but I also bought more than my fair share (yes, I officially reached hoarder status by surpassing the 2K mark).  I will provide pictures and links to the original posts so you can read up on the individual polishes if you so desire!  YAY for 2014!  I'd say it was a pretty great year.  I can't wait to see what the trends are for nail polish from all the amazing indie makers in 2015!

*please click on links to original posts for disclosures*

Honorable Mention: Sweet Heart Polish Disneyworld or Bust.  I really had a hard time narrowing it down to 10 so this is the best I could do.  I guess you could say it's a Top 11.  This is a fairly recent polish from Sweet Heart Polish and even thought I have only visited Disneyland, the colors in Disneyworld or Bust speak to me more.  I think because I know Casandra and how much she loves everything Disney, this one really captures the entire brand as well as the maker.  The mixture of brights and white are a perfect combination.  I hope there are more Disney themed polishes from Sweet Heart Polish in 2015!  Original post HERE.

10. Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Deathwatch Beetle.  Holo micro glitters seemed to be pretty huge this year.  I hope they have a strong presence in 2015 because even though they are a major PITA to remove they are absolutely gorgeous!  Julie has a true eye for color blends and glitter mixes.  I've seen a sneak peek of her first collection for 2015 and it's pretty fantastic.  Looking forward to her 2015 polishes.  Original post HERE.

9. Alter Ego Nail Enamel Rows Her Boat.  This was one of the Gloss48 exclusive colors and it is completely stunning! It's a turquoise/teal blue full of golden shimmer.  Cynthia has been killing it lately with her polishes and I am very excited to see what else she has up her sleeve for 2015.  Original post HERE.

8. Girly Bits Lack of Pies.   I loved this polish so much from the first time I saw it in reviews.  Like I needed it.  Bad.  I was not disappointed when I finally got it.  It's such an awesome polish - holographic and multi chrome, full of green and purple-pink and gold.  Pam always has amazing polishes and I'm especially excited to see what collections she has coming out for the Spring and Summer!  Original post HERE.

Girly Bits Lack of Pies

7. Colors by Llarowe Show Off.  How could I not pick one of these amazing multi chrome holos?  All 4 from this collection were truly perfection and it was hard to chose my favorite but I think I chose correctly!  Leah Ann puts out collection like a mad woman so I am sure she already had half of 2015 ready to go.  I hope to see more multi chrome holos, shimmers, flakies and micro glitters from her this coming year.  Original post HERE.

6. Cupcake Polish Neither Here Noir There.  This was such a beautiful, dark purple/charcoal holo, resistance was futile.  I knew immediately I would love it, and I did.  Sara can really knock her holos out of the park and I have a feeling she is going to have some awesome colors releasing in 2015!  Original post HERE.

5. Paint Box Polish A Dragon Is Not A Slave.  This is the perfect lime green holo micro glitter.  Since it's been in my possession I have worn it 4 times already.  It's my consistent pedicure.  The color is so bright and happy and the application is pretty darn fabulous for a micro glitter.  I have only tried 3 of Pam's creations but I hope to try many many more in 2015.  Original post HERE.

4. Superficially Colorful Tsahik.  I am a complete sucker for anything red-orange and this one was so "Jen" it was ridiculous.  The color, the finish.  It was so vibrant and fun!  Jin excels at thermals but she also proved how fabulous she is at making other finishes: texture, shimmer, holo.  I hope 2015 brings us many many new Superficially Colorful Lacquers!  Original post HERE.

Superficially Colorful Lacquers Tsahik

3. Elevation Polish Yeti's Oceanside Vacation.  This was a limited edition, like all the Yeti's.  I pretty much love every Yeti and since I've already started I have to keep getting them.  This one was light and airy and refreshing.  It reminded me of a beach town on a Mediterranean island.  I was also taken by surprise when I saw that the little starts glowed in the dark - I missed that part when i read the description on the listing.  Lulu is a mastermind when it comes to polish.  She's a pro at every color and finish and I know I'll be handing her plenty of my money in 2015.  Original post HERE.

2. Lumina Lacquer Final Fantasy.  This is a stunning blend of pastel glitters.  I love the colors and the shapes.  Lumina Lacquer is known for large glitters and glitter bombs.  Tatiana does a great job with colors and shapes without overdoing it.  But she's also been presenting some gorgeous solid colors with holo shimmer in them as well as holo micro glitters.  My fingers are crossed that we see lots more of these styles from her in 2015.  Original post HERE.

1.  We made it to the number 1 spot!  I knew it would go to Smitten Polish, but I really had to think about which one of Noelie's amazing creations from this year was my absolute, hands down, unquestionable favorite.  Man this was a hard one.  But I am going with Not Your Mama's Easter Grass.  I chose this one as my #1 because one of the first Smitten's that ever caught my eye was Electric Lime and this is basically the micro glitter version of it, which of course means I love it like no other!  Noelie makes holos and holo micro glitters like it's nobodies business.  Her micro glitters are the finest ones I have tried and they may as well be in a class of their own (I will admit my second favorite is This Is My Tiara! with Penny Dreadful in a close 3rd - all micro glitters.).  My fingers are crossed that she has plenty of new colors and maybe a few new finishes for us to try in 2015!  Original post HERE.
