Good morning all! Hope you're enjoying this summer weather! It was mighty hot yesterday and I was thankful to be at the pool. Hoping today is a beach day for me and the kids. Which usually means we will stop at one of my favorite ice cream parlor's for a cone on the way home. Up first is Vanilla Like That. Inspired by the vanilla flavored treat, but also by those people that love vanilla ice cream. They are the ones who like reliable, traditional, conventional things. Some may find it boring, but I genuinely enjoy a nice plain vanilla cone now and then! I found this creamy, off-white shade a bit more reminiscent of French Vanilla. The formula and application were both great. I used 3 coats to even it out smoothly. No topcoat needed.
Refreshing As Lemon Ice is a gorgeous lemony yellow creme. This one is inspired by the sweet and sour icy treat that is typically found at fairs and festivals. It's so delicious, perfect for a hot Summer day. This one was just a little sheer but it built up perfectly in 3 coats. No topcoat used.
Strawberry Shaker is a pastel pink creme that looks just like a strawberry milkshake. And I'll be darned if it didn't make me crave one something fierce! I still need one now that I'm thinking of it. Wonderful formula and application. 3 coats and no topcoat needed.
Sherbet vs Sherbert? It's All The Same To Me is a creamy pastel peachy orange shade that looks like orange sherbert (or is it sherbet?). I love this color, it's fantastic! The formula was fab and it applied like a dream. I used 3 coats for full coverage and no topcoat.
Yo! Pistachio? is a sheer pistachio green creme. GAH! Gorgeous color! It's a slightly washed out color, but it's so perfect. Formula and application were both aces. I used 3 coats for perfect coverage and no topcoat necessary.
Rare As A Midwest Blue Moon is inspired by a rare ice cream only found in a few states. I'm referring to Blue Moon Ice Cream. I have personally never heard of it but now I am very intrigued and would love to taste it. Is it bubble gum, cotton candy, pepperminty flavored? Well I can tell you the formula and appellation were both top notch! I used 3 coats and no topcoat.
Wahoo! Grape Today is a sheer purple that leans more jelly than creme. It's inspired by a juice pop that the Good Humor man had available that only cost $0.05! Can you imagine? An ice cream for a nickel, I'd have multiple ice creams a day if they were that price today. Sadly they are not. The formula of this one was pretty sheer and thin. Definitely the formula odd-ball out in this collection. I used 3 coats but probably should have done a 4th. No topcoat used.
Rounding out the collection is I Like It Chocolate, a milk chocolate brown creme. Who out there really likes chocolate? Plain chocolate, mixed chocolate, death by chocolate. It's definitely one of my favorite flavors, especially when I'm in the mood for something more decadent. Formula and application were aces. I used 3 coats and no topcoat.
I did a little art using the entire Scream For Ice Creme collection. I started with a base of Vanilla Like That. I then used the splatter method of using a straw to blow polish randomly onto my dry nails. I did this with each color causing a nice mess reminiscent of drips of ice cream. Because really, even as an adult even I can't eat an ice cream fast enough to keep it from dripping all over me. I used topcoat to smooth out all the polish.
